Team,
The weather may have been against us on the weekend but summer is not yet over and consistent fine weather should be here soon! POPS unfortunately did not get jumping but they said they will be back, which is fantastic. The weather for this weekend is looking promising and quoted from the metservice.co.nz:
Saturday 30 Jan Max 22°C MIN 15°C Long fine spells, chance shower. Southeasterlies
Sunday 31 Jan Max 24°C MIN 16°C Long fine spells, chance shower. Southeasterlies
Yesterday, Wednesday the 27th, we had 6 new jumpers who underwent training and are scheduled for their first jump this Saturday. On the 10th of February, we are running a packing session, so if you want to learn how to pack – register your interest by emailing me back. This Saturday and Sunday we are jumping but please note – Saturday is the normal kick-off time of 0830 but for Sunday the aircraft will be ready from 1100 – but the clubrooms will be opened at the normal time (1000) so you can get down early and ready to be on the first load!
Once last thing, we will not be jumping on Auckland Anniversary this Monday 01 FEB, no pilot available.
If there are any suggestions for our club, feel free to email myself or skydiveclub@nzdf.mil.nz, we plan to have a committee meeting in the very near future so email through any suggestions we could discuss. And don’t forget, check the website www.skydiveclub.co.nz and give the Para Clubrooms a ring, 09 417 7000 extension 7519 for updates on the weekend’s para club activity and timings. See you at the DZ this weekend!

We woke up to a cloudy day on the Saturday but it very quickly burnt off to reveal a stunning day for a handful of loads to go up. The conditions were good for the CRW team and a club leaflet drop into the Kumeu showgrounds. This weekend we are hosting POPS. Both Saturday and Sunday is looking fine with maybe a bit of wind on the Saturday but its looking like a good weekend for jumping. The bbq will be firing and the fridge will be cold, both ready and waiting. Let’s all head down to the club to welcome POPS and get some good jumps in together.
We also have healthy numbers for the jump course on the 27th of January. Bruce Thomson (the instructor) will soon be getting in touch with those of you who have registered your interest; only a week to go until you learn the first stage of one of the most fun activities in the world. If you can’t make it this Wednesday, there will be more first-jump courses in the future so keep an eye out for updates!
See you at the DZ this weekend from 0830 Saturday and 1000 Sunday!

The CRW boys swooped into the Kumeu Hot Rod show this afternoon to a capacity crowd. GB, Pete, Dene, Paree & Tony performed a brilliant display for the crowd.
Club flyers were distributed to a few hundred people (thanks Paree !). Thanks to Bruce Thomson CSO (DZSO).

Team,
Last weekend saw a handful of loads going up, the conditions were good but the number of loads was low given the great weather. This weekend the weather is looking beaut, the plane is all ready, we have pilots and DZSOs all ready, so all we need is you! Let’s get out there and support our club, bring the kids, family and friends down to enjoy the scenes of the DZ and let’s jump the summer away….
The weekend is also hosting two displays that club members are performing in on Saturday and Sunday, both into the Kumeu showgrounds, so head along and check out the CRW boys.
For the rest of this month we are hosting POPS on the 23rd/24th and on Wednesday the 27th we are running a first-jump static line course, its not to late to join in on the fun – so email me if you are keen for the Static line course. Also, if there are any suggestions for our club, feel free to email myself or skydiveclub@nzdf.mil.nz. And don’t forget, check the website www.skydiveclub.co.nz and give the Para Clubrooms a ring, 09 417 7000 extension 7519 for updates on the weekend’s para club activity and timings. See you at the DZ this weekend from 0830 Saturday and 1000 Sunday !

Happy New Year Team,
Hope you all had an enjoyable festive period and are still keeping in line with any New Year resolutions. 2010 is looking like a good year for the Para Club through recent months seeing us grow in membership, students becoming licensed and enthusiastic ideas being made to develop the club and our activities. The highlights for Jan 2010 include:
13th and 27th – First- Jump static Line courses, send you names through now if you’re keen! I already have four people…
13th – Parachute packing instruction afternoon, send your names through also if you’re keen to attend
23rd/24th – POPs weekend at the DZ
Plus a few BBQs will be thrown in too
This Saturday looks like its going to be a beauty and we will have the safety people in place to jump. However, for the Sunday we may still be in holiday mode due to the as-yet absence of a DZSO being scheduled, so if you are keen to jump on the Sunday, give the Para Clubrooms a ring, 09 417 7000 extension 7519, and see if we are jumping. Also, as usual, check out www.skydiveclub.co.nz and/or ring the clubrooms for updates on the weekend’s para club activity and timings.
Blue Skies,
Cheers,
Mark Beccard
