So your keen on a skydive.. welcome to the skies -
There are currently two types of “Learn to Skydive” or “First Jump” courses offered. These are outlined as follows. Next course dates will be available below - note: we are currently only running the 'SL' or 'static-line' courses once a month. Dates will be published on this page. AFF is being developed so watch this space for updates
SL or Static Line
This is where the student exits the aircraft from approx. 3,000 feet with a ’static-line’ attached to the parachute deployment pin and the aircraft. The Parachute is deployed as line stretch is reached on the ’static-line’. The student is then guided down by radio for a safe landing. The Static Line course is a very popular choice due to the lower cost.
Courses are held at least once a month. Email us for details of upcoming course dates or to register interest.
AFF or Accelerated FreeFall
This is by far the most intensive of the First Jump courses. This is where the student exits the aircraft from approx. 12,000 feet with two AFF Instructors - each holding an arm and leg on exit. You will be in freefall for approx. 40 - 50 secs (depending on your exit height) and deploy your parachute at approx. 3,500 feet. Again the student is guided down by radio for safe landing. The AFF program allows faster boby positioning or body flight skill development.

Either way the pump of adrenaline, and the reality of what you have just acomplished is a transforming experience for most.
On completion of the course program, you can then apply for your “A” licence. This shows a level of proficency. The parachute certificate program is issued in a tiered system. A, B, C, and D certificate. D being that carried by the more experienced skydiver. To apply for your license you will need to complete a Fit and Proper Person form and a Certificate Application Form.
So, get along to our DZ . This is a great experience. Come and see the drop zone upclose, and meet the people. There will usually be a group of sport jumpers about too. These guys will make you feel relaxed and confident.
